Life: About ready to give up

Well, other than saying "This sucks" I don't have much specific advice, except that it's obvious that you need to take more control of your life but you also understand that there are many things that you cannot control, primarily, other people and how they feel or what they do.

You can't control your girlfriends feelings for you (or lack of them) so I would consider moving on from her and seeking someone who wants to be with you, rather than hanging around waiting for her to make time for you, but that's for you to decide; I'm just shooting from the hip here, with no personal knowledge of the history or dynamics between you two. Still, it sounds like it's time for you to go. No one is irreplacable.

As for finishing the car; you can't control your dad's decision to not let you use his garage space for now, but you might look for other space, like renting a garage.

The point is that you need to be (excuse the buzzword) 'proactive'. You need to feel more in control and you can do that by simply making some decisions and acting on them; without having to depend on a girlfriend, father, boss or buddy to agree or help or whatever. The decisions don't have to be life-changing, either. Do some smaller mods to the Mustang that don't require a garage, buy some new clothes, take a week-end vacation - alone - where you decide where to go and what to do, that kind of thing. It will help.

Finally; you have to decide to be happy. Deal with the problems as necessary but decide to enjoy your life and not let the negative stuff derail you to the point where you're miserable and unhappy. You have youth, health and lots more going for you, and you have the freedom to do as you please in this great country, so use the freedom - make some decisions and keep moving ahead with your life, despite what others say or do. Don't let the crap get you down for long and that way, you 'win'. Works for me.
