![]() fostang-what do you have? car/engine/combo? So with Holley...you get better performance, at a higher price...so in other words you get what you pay for-lol? Hmmm...well...for those of us that do have lots experience with Holleys know how easy they are to get parts for and can usually find good cores to rebuild at swap meets for damn near the price of a couple Burger King Combo Meals. I recently picked up a used 600 Holley 1850 for $50 at a local swap meet and paid $20 for a can of carb cleaner and a rebuild kit-did it in less than an hour and now I have something I can tune to fit my car perfectly for cheap as well as perform well.
I guess mileage has never been a problem with my Holleys. I mean I guess we used a Holley 700 dp on an 10 sec 79 Camaro and yes that got bad gas mileage-but I think it had to do with the roller cam that had up around 600 lift and 242 degrees of duration with 4.56 gears and a TH350 combined with the fact that the carb was not designed for a mileage friendly street car. I got 24 mpg with a 351 and a 600 Holley in a 82 Mustang doing 65 mph with a C4-no overdrive. That doesn't sound too bad to me. ------------------ 1988 GT-under construction |
