![]() We have three Mustangs in my yard, 71, 82, and 89. THe 71 is mothballed now but at one time it would run up to about 130 if you had the cajones to keep your foot on the floor. THa 82 now has the same 351-C/C-6 and it too runs about the same and although it is a little more civilized at speed it's still an exercise in controlled fear. My son tells me his 89 went about 135 stock and about 145 with the 3:55 gears and the new 306. I'm sure he calculated this since those speeds are illegal in Texas. Funny thing is, it doesn't matter whether you're in fourth or fifth gear, top speed stays pretty much the same. THese are all indicated speeds so don't quote me on accuracy. I did have an opportunity to go 125 in an 89 and it was steady as a rock at that speed. (and yes the old fart was driving)
