I have 17x9 Cobra R's on my pony and they are plenty big enough. Why do you want to compare your car to a viper? It's not... In my opinion, if you want your car to have a good stance, drop your car 2" (at the most). I have a set of Eibach pro sprot springs and just about every one I talk to complments me on how my car sits. If you drop it, get low profile tires, and KEEP your 17's you will find that you will get the look you are after. If you do it right, you won't have a rough ride.
