That's odd....i tried that and it didn't work for me. The rubber seal would keep shifting around and sometimes fall in and all i was really doing was pushing the light around. I tried a screwdriver to lift up the tang and push the bulb in but it just wouldn't go in easily with the gasket there. When i took it off, i was able to apply enough pressure for it to drop right in.....well, whatever works i guess.
