The stars are there to mask your password for security. Just erase the three *'s and type in your new password (which will also show up as stars). Make sure the preferences are set-up as you desire, and then hit submit.
In addition, if you don't like what you new password is, you could also go into "Profile" and change your password to whatever you want it to be..
