Thumbs up a BIG thanks to Dan and all the moderators!

I just visited the chevy site that is being talked about in the blue oval lounge (ls6.com I think) After seeing it I just wanted to let you guys know what a great site you have put together! It is like a big family over here at mustangworks and all the work you guys do to make this one of the best sites on the web is appreciated! You all do a great job of running the site and letting everyone voice their opinions about anything in an adult fashion.

Cool

Jason:

Thanks. We like you too.

Seriously though, adult is the operative word in that statement.
Dan has always strived to maintain a friendly, useful site and that means messageboards that operate in a manner that allow for plenty of honest discussion - and that will always include some emotion.
We draw the line at insults and flaming in general. This helps no one and is an embarrassment to everyone.
With well over 6000 registered members, this requires a lot of monitoring and some discernment as to when a post or a thread needs to be edited, closed or deleted.
All of the Mustang Works staff pitch in to do everything we can to deserve compliments such as yours, and to maintain the reputation of the site. As we continue to grow the challenges will certainly get bigger, but we're confident that Dan and the rest of us are equal to the task and will continue to offer you a site that you can use and enjoy every day in the coming years.

Thanks again for your support...we appreciate it.

Question

By the way, what happened to that post about the Chevy site? I can't find it now. Did it get deleted for some reason or am I just blind? I was kind of interested to see what everyone had to say about it.

Exclamation

The 'LS6' thread was deleted as it violated our policy regarding commercial websites using the messageboards to advertise. Although 'LS6' had no ads, it's structured to be a commercial site.

The owner of the site was notified (by e-mail) of the deletion and the reasons for taking the action were explained to him.
It had nothing to do with it being a Chevy website. We've banned similar posts from Ford sites and will continue to do so.

FYI: Members may add a website link to their signature and may post the link on our links page but using the messageboards to advertise a commercial website of any kind is not permitted. If a site owner wishes to buy an ad on Mustang Works Online they are welcome to do so. We have good rates. However, we're not here to offer free advertising for other commercial websites. Seems reasonable to me.

LS6 received plenty of free exposure here and anyone still interested can look them up and visit, if they want to. It's a free country.
