I know of a couple people who have had this done on both the cowl piece and the side mirrors.

You have to sand them down smooth first with gradual changes of grit sandpaper (i.e., 200 grit, 400 grit, etc, etc). It's a biotch! Then apply the paint.

It looks really good. Here is a pic of a friends car.
