I had the same size of tires as you, I made the mistake of buying 245x17 because they hardly help. Like "HAMMER" is saying to much power in the rear end. Installing 3:73 gears makes it worth.
Right now I am planning on leaving the front tires but get couple of wide @ss for the rear maybe NITTO 555R or MIKEY THOMPSON. I spend thousands of dollar trying to fix this problem by changing the whole suspenssion but so far far the tires still spinn like hell.
