![]() the factory h-pipe is 2 1/4" while a bbk or etc. is 2 1/2". bigger = better flow. You can weld in a set of flowmasters but then if you go with an h or x pipe the system will go from 2 1/2" back to 2 1/4" which can be a little restrictive. Best is to change tail pipes and all. I have the bassanni x with cats and 2 1/2" flowmasters(2 chamber) and 2 1/2" tailpipes. The car thunders threw the gears. plus it has a nice rumble at idle. My neighbor has a 00 gt with stock exhaust and there is a big big difference in the sound. He is going with the same setup next month. I dont recommend getting headers since they only net 2-5 hp plus they are a PAIN IN THE A$$ to install. the factory ones are aok! IMHO. If you have the cash, go with the steeda pullies and timing adjuster too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!Awsome power adder!
