Thanks again for the reply's, i think this is a great meesage board and plan to use it regularly.

I will contact ford hot line, thanks for the suggestion, and yes all was covered under warranty. i'll keep you posted as to what transpires.

Since im a first time ford owner i was wondering if GT 5 speeds are perhaps a little prone to clutch and or trany problems.
im not gonna say that i have babyed the car but i havent really been that ruff on it either. if it can't take a little abuse than it would seem pointless to own this kind of performance vehicle. i have owned other brands of 5 speed cars and had not had these types of problems. i also had heard that GT's 5 speeds for 2001 come with a re-designed trany does anyone know if that is true ?
