Thumbs up

Chris
Try turning it clockwise(like if you were tightening the nut)if the clutch disc needs to grip more against the flywheel. The less tension on the cable, the more pressure will be between the clutch disc and flywheel.

You need to make sure it's adjusted right or you are going to end up killing the clutch very soon. It has to be perfeclty settled.

Check the fluid
hydraulic:
(might work for mechanical)

Run the engine at normal idle speed with the transmission in neutral (clutch pedal up - engaged). Disengage the clutch (cluth down), wait nine seconds and **** the transmission into reverse. NO grinding noise should be heard. A grinding noise would most likely indicate a problem in the pressure plate or clutch disc. so keep adjusting if need to.

To check for complete clutch release, run the engine (parking brake applied)and hold the clutch pedal aproximately 1/2 inch from the floor. Shift the transmission between 1st gear and reverse several times. If the shift its not smooth, component failure is indicated somewhere or not adjusted right.

hope this gives you an idea. if more questions, email me netslide3@home.com
