To me, a cold air kit wouldn't be a cold air kit if it was sucking air in from a warm engine compartment. But to each his own.

Is it worth it? Well, that depends on what you want to get out of it. If you want HP, the cold air kit won't do much over a K&N filter. If you want room in your engine compartment and a lot cleaner look, then a cold air kit is what you want.

JMO.
