Hey, I have a 90 Gt and a 89 lx and both of them use about 1-1.5 quarts per oil change of 3000 miles. The sudden loss of oil could have been blown out of the pcv from pressure or your rear main seal could be bad (notorious for that problem). If it keeps it up losing oil every 100-200 miles then you have a leak, but if it only loses 1 quart every 3000 then it is normal.

Does the Novi 1000 use engine oil to lubricate itself? If it does you might want to look for an internal leak there too.
