Post Lite weight flywheel

Flywheels store mechanical energy.A liter flywheel doesn't take as much energy to turn(energy=Horsepower)So I guess you'd have more horse power avilable to power the car.I thnk some types of racing req.s a heavier flywheel,ie oval track racing?
I've hard pro's and con's about lite weight flywheels...
