The Holley lower is based on the truck lower....yeah the ports are huge. You can get the ports to line up better if you have the lower milled a little. Usually taking about 0.060" off the front and back ends will do it, but you might also have to take some off the sides as well to get the ports centered up good before doing the gasket match. The RPM is pretty much the same. I found that I had to mill some off the sides before it'd drop down into the valley. There are some square bosses on the lower that caught on the heads and wouldn't let it seat completely but a pass or to on the mill solve the problem.
Unless you're using a large port head with the Holley, there will be a big forward facing step to the flow. It takes some work to both the intake and heads to get them aligned and matched. Rick..I'll be running Street Warrior (formerly Trophy Stock) again next season. The car is completely stripped and gutted right now; getting ready to send it to the paint shop for a snazzy paint job. We'll be shooting for the 10.99 barrier next season....that's probably what it will take to win. The class has gotten soooo competitive and sooooo fast!
