If you're going through all that trouble, get a new quadrant with an adjustable cable. They're better.

Question

I have the quadrant, but I cannot get the old quadrant out. Do I need to take the dash off to replace the old quadrant or is there an easier way to do it?

it's a pain to get to .fold you carpet and pad down so that the clutch pedal will touch the floor.that is the only way you can remove the old gears.the small gear has a spring that makes it hard to get off, unhook the spring and it should come right off.remember to keep the pedal on the floor.

i just did mine ...its a pain.i took front seat out so my back wuold not turn to pretzels.the bigger qudrant wasnt as hard as little peice.i got a long pair of needle nose pliers and a long screwdriver for the spring if u get spring off it coms off when the peddle is all the way down.last post was right might have to take up carpet to get a little bit more peddle to get it off.i didnt have to pull carpet up but i did have a real hard time with that litte spring that holds it ounce i got spring it wasnt that difficult.if u can get a long pair of needle nose or a big pair of hemostats(aruond a foot long)it helps with pins and getting at springs.
