Wink Ford vs............Honda??

Ok, since the F-body's are going to the great big junkyard in the sky......who's our new competitor?

Wo are we going to line up against at the tracks? And don't say the 'Vette, there just aren't enough of them.

I guess it's up to Honda, Mitsubitchy, and the like. Isn't Dodge going to make us a honorable challenge? What happened to the GTO concept?

I was happy to get rid of the Camaro and Firechicken, but thinking about it, I think it may do more harm than good for us.

Later.

Your right man. Actually dodge is supposed to make an honorable challenger, The 2003 Challenger. All we know so far is it will be sleek, low, v8 rear drive, sedan. There aren't any performance numbers yet. Check out Motor Trend. Thats where I seen the latest news.

Those new Thunderchickens are extremely wimpy. They've reverted back to the orignal concept, a luxo barge that looks good. Which is one thing that cars does real good.

Why doesn't Dodge bring back the 440? Even the 340 would be a good start. Something.

While I'm on the subject, Ford needs to put the 5.4 in the Mustang before I have a conniption(sp?). Stop jerkin' us around and just do it!! And someone needs to offer a Vortech instead of a Roots blower from the dealer.

Ok, I'm done ranting for now. But...I'll be back.(In my very best Arnold voice)

I have never been an avid Chevrolet follower unless were talking 69 Camaro. How ever I have tried to follow what Dodge was doing new and I must say I would really like to see a new 2003 Challener with a Hemi 360. Hell add a roots type blower on it and you got yourself a car then.

I would also shiate my pants when Ford actullay decides to do a 5.4 in a stang. Hey add the roots blower of the Lightning, and where talking serious fun.

Whoooa there Nelly. As soon as GM stops production on the Fart-bodies (j/k), all of them ain't ganna just disappear. You still gonna have to worry about the '98-'03 (end date?). They'll soon die out too, in what, about 5, 10 years?

Actually, I think Ford is gonna start going for the Corvettes. Yes, the C5, C6, etc, will be our new competitor. And maybe the WRX's. Hopefully they'll bring the Skyline GT-R to America so I can buy one . (<<----what are you talking about???)

no, didn't you hear, GM is going to the house of every Camaro/Firebird buyer, slapping them in the face for being retarted, reimbursing them because they bought a crappy product, and then taking the car back, so actually they will all disappear

well i was actually gonna say the same thing about the others not disappearing, but Fox Body already did and i wanted to say something anyway

I'm pretty sure that the Camaro will return in a few years, just not as an F-body. Look at The Thunderbird, it went away for a little bit, and now it's back. No big deal. Besides, I hope the Camaro returns as soon as possible. Without competition, what motivation does ford have to keep increasing the performance or quality of the Mustang?

Yeah, that's what I was trying to say. Not that the other models were going to magically disappear just that what motivation will Ford have to improve the 'Stang?

You will be able to buy 02 F-Bodies for quite a while at least into 2002 and even up to 2003. But they are not just going to dissapear, lol. Your still going to have the competetion. Look at the fox bodies......And I don't think Ford is going to compete directly against the vette, especially the new C6.

Ha ha ha.

As far as the Mustang competing against the Corvette, most of that is wishful thinking and speculation on my part . But hey, Christmas 's a'comin' ... let's pretend.

Wow good point Mustang Killer....it's too bad that Mazda hasn't made an RX7 for awhile now.....AND they're slower. And of course i bet you knew that Mazda is OWNED by ford motor company and in fact alot of mazda products (such as the tribute, B series trucks, among other things) are rebadged fords. Of course, us domestic (or Dumb-estic as ricers call us) owners are "StUpId yO, ImPoRtZZZZ RuLe, yO!!!!"

One of the Mustangs competitors may come from Ford themselves. Ford Motor Company is talking seriuosly about making the 2004 COugar a Mustang based car.

The dodge Challenger is supposed to be a 4 door pony car. I dont know how its going to compete with the stang sales wise.

Lack of competition doesnt neccassarily mean that the Mustang will become wimpy. Has the Corvette became "Wimpy". Even before the Viper came along, the Corvette never became "Wimpy".

Well it did in the mid to late 70s, but then so was every other car back then.

The reason why I said the t-birds could be a compition is that in 2004, Ford is thinking of making a smaller Mustang, to house the 3.4 v8. Now, are they going to do it, who know's

mustang killer, we don't need your kind around here

go tell your stories about how your beloved RX7 is so fast to your rice buddies.

so you even have a car or are you just talking $hit for no reason?

oh yah, i don't care how fast a RX7 is- i'll race any of them, and yes chances are i will lose if the owner did much to it besides stickers and a fcking fart pipe- but the funny thing will be after he beats me and has to rebuild that $hitbox of a motor.

a good friend of mine (another stang guy) works at a pontiac service dept and everytime i go in there to talk to him theres always a RX7 or two getting a whole new motor after like 15,000 miles cause its such a piece of crap and loses it's compression

i can sense a flame war getting ready to start, so if you talk your $hit then you damn well better be ready to back it up you little dick
