need help with new motor!!!!
I am going to pick up my 429 cobra jet tomorrow and found out it does not have any heads. What can i get to fit it? And does any one sell and/or have a tech article about a 429 swap into a fox? I want to put it in Marbles and know i need new things like a bell housing, exhaust, fuel and ignition upgrades..etc..etc.. I am really hoping to convert it to EFI if possible. Is there any way i can make a MAF EEC-IV work on it like the 351's ? What is the firing order of this thing? OH GOD!!! SOOOO MANY QUESTIONS!!!
HELP!!!!!!!!!!! Jonathan Light Em Up!!! |

Can't really help you with the 429 heads. But have a question for you...
Why not go with the 460? It's the exact same block etc, just a different crank and rods. Well, if it helps: You can use 460 heads. |

I'll answer your question with a question. Where can i buy a rebuilt 460 with a forged crank, h-bean rods, all the works that has been blue printed and professionally assembled minus heads because they are way too wild to even comprehend running on the streets for $100? I **** you not my friend! And i can get a 70 fast back to put it in for $1000. In pretty damn good shape. Light Em Up!!!

I met a guy at school who has been in the junk yard buisness along with other things for years and he can get me what ever i need. He told me about this motor and said how he was a chevy guy and had no use for it. I made an offer as a joke and he jumped on it. It's just a case of a friend helping out another friend. I amd looking into some other stuff too. But now i need to find a swap kit for this thing so i don't have it sitting in my garage. Since it is the same block as a 460 i should be able to use the 460 swap kit and just get different headers, right? Light Em Up!!!

Elisha! Do i detect a hint of jeolusy sweety? J/K. I found a good job up here and am doing very well for my self at the moment. The motor came along at such a great price that i had to grab it. Marbles is in storage fro the winter so i don't have to paay for high gas $$, or insurance. Plus i couldn't bring myself to get rid of her. She is the only lady ion my life. Besides you
