Default How long for the "profanity announcement"?

Just wondering how long the "announcement" is gonna stay there? Also wondering as to who actually wrote it? Seems it was signed by Dan and then again Jim? I realize that each represents MW, but someone has to be the author.

Smile Profanity Announcment

Rev:

I wrote the announcment at Dan's suggestion after we had discussed the growing number of posts with profanities in them.

I'm pleased to report that the problem has about disappeared so I expect that Dan will probably remove the announcment soon - although it may appear again from time to time to remind Senior members and inform new ones of our posting policy.
Remember, new members register on Mustang Works every day so what's old to us is new to them.

I specifically requested that Dan post it under his name to eliminate any question among members regarding his full support of the policy, as he is the sole owner of the website; I'm a willing volunteer but Dan always has the final word on anything that impacts the site as he did with the 'profanity announcment'.

While on the subject: My thanks again for the almost 100% cooperation we've received regarding this issue from everyone who posts. It's much appreciated.

Thanks for the explanation Jim. Although I never saw the problem, I'm glad to know it's resolved.

After considering things again, it seems to me that moderators should sign their own posts, taking full ownership. I realize these posts are fully backed by the owners of the board and moderators have full backing by those same owners. Still, writing under some one elseses byline doesn't see quite right to me. You know me, always questions?

Question Announcements

Rev:

The 'profanity' announcment was written in my voice and over my name - I signed it - so the authorship was never in question.

Dan could have co-signed the announcment but simply posting it under his name has the same effect.

In the future, we'll consider co-signing announcments where both Dan and a staff member take part in the genesis of the document.
