![]() Well I found out how I do next to an LT1
![]() A green Camero with black racing stripes (with atleast exhaust done) came up beside me and gunned it. By the time that I down shifted my front bumper was just behind his rear bumper. I nailed it and I slowly started to bring him in. Then he shot forward like I was standing still! I noticed a bunch of white smoke coming from his tail pipes. He sprayed me! So much for my wanted "victory" today ![]() I could take this guy barring the his use of N20. Which is what I was curious to know. |

![]() Sure you could take him if he didnt spray.
LT1's are not much comp for a modded stang. LS1's are a whole nother beast entirely

LT1's are high 13, low 14 sec car's stock. A 94-98 GT is high 14' low 15 stock. A GT's gotta make up nearly a second just to run with one. If by modded you mean full exhaust, gears, intake, then yeah, a GT can run with one, but for a GT with flows, a K&N and a shifter (most "modded" GT's out there ![]()

![]() Let's see, high 14's to low/mid 14's. Or more accurately, stock LT-1 vs SN95 with K&N, exhuast, and an H-pipe.
I have never encountered one of these "fast" LT-1's. My 87GT has beaten them at highway speeds, off the line, everywhere. I routinely pull them in 3rd gear with my 2.73's. |

![]() LT1's run mid to high 14's and even 15's where I live and...and I think that a modded stang would dust some LS1 arse considering most run a mid 14 or better stock.
I smoked some LT1's last year running a 14.79 @3000 feet I wasnt impresed. Were you kidding ![]()

![]() i've seen verrrrry few stock lt1's dip into the 13s, but freaks come in every brand
most i've seen run were low to mid 14's very comparable to a slightly modded pre99 stang.

![]() I can't speak for all cars, but I happened to be at the track this weekend and made 6 passes with friends of mine. One of them has a 95 Z28 M6, blown foxbody & 00 Camaro SS auto. My friend with the 95 Z ran a best of 13.80 @ 102.XXX on street tires and he isn't the best driver. I believe the car has a cam & a new rear with axles. What suprised me was my friend with the 00 SS running 13.10-13.20s @ 104-105 mph all day on street tires bone stock with the auto. When he gets a converter & D/Rs, that car will be running easy 12.50s. Definitely seat time at the track is important for the best ETs and mph. I went quicker and faster on every pass. I would say and LT1 is quite capable of low 14s with the right driver and conditions. I would definitely be careful of LS1s, especially autos with converters, unless you are running low 12s/high 11s.

![]() yea turbo99, if you read my "this is ridiculous" post, i know about those a4 ls1's ss or formula, my friend should see a 12.50 with a converter and a sticky tire.
lt1's arent nothing special, my friend has a 97 t/a with an auto and he has cutouts and 3 in exhaust, he sees 14.0's @ 100, and has run 13.9 once, on my street tires i beat him, but it was close race on the top, but he couldnt pull. turbo99, i agree also, to be an ls1 punisher, you need a low 12 sec stang, my buddies trick flow'd 347 hasnt been touched on the track yet bye an ls1, he goes 12.2's@ 114 expecting 11.70 when we get his suspension fixed.

![]() My friend has a 95 Z28 spd with a cutout and cold air intake and went 13.99 @ 100.4 then 14.02 @ 101.1. My other friend with a 93 Z28 A4 goes 13.9X @ 100.7 consistantly and has seen a couple of 13.8's. All he has is a cut out, 3.42 gears and an ignition system. My brothers girlfriend went 14.6 @ 99 in her 96 Z28 A4 w/T-Tops completely bone stock with traction control on with a 2.48 60'. My best is 14.45 @ 99.4 and I have just about all the minor bolt ons (no heads, intake, cam, ignition). From a roll, its really just a matter of who punches it first and who is in a better RPM but from a stop they get me because I been having problems launching the car with out spinning or completely babying it out of the hole. I cant floor it before 3750 in first or I will just light them up. I think I can trap a little better when I finally get the launch down but those LT1s are no slouches whatsoever.

![]() So what you're basically saying is what everybody's been saying all along. Off the floor the LT-1 is a low/mid 14 second car. A straight up match with a well driven SD Mustang 5.0. I don't consider that much to brag about. A SN95 with gears and just a bolt on or 2 would have no problems. Interestingly enough, my near bone stock Fox with the z spec and 2.73's in poor form trapped as high as any of those cars (according to the G Tech 103.8mph), so about 100-101.

![]() I had a friend with a 96z m6 with 4:10's an cutout... I ran him on my nittos and him on street tires and pulled him out of the hole so bad he couldn't catch up by the 1/4... from a high roll he would pull on me but I do have an auto with 4:10's.... needless to say I wasn't too impressed, probably a high 13, low 14 car.

![]() My 95 hit 14.6 @ 96 mph bone stock. My friends auto 94 LT1 hit 14.0 @ 98 or 99 mph bone stock as well. I'd say your average mass air stang has about a half second to improve to catch an LT1 in good condition. But then those things fall apart like auto-lepracy anway
