changing automatic transmission

hi,Im from japan.
I have 1988 mausang lx-5.0 convertible

yesterday my pony's autmatic transmission had broken,

In japan changing auto-trans is cheaper than repairng it.

So i disided to change the auto-trans to another car's one.

I have to sech the auto-trans to fit to my car.

But in japan,1988 mustang is not popular car,

I have some used auto-trans list of another ford car,

In japan 1994 on mustang car is popular thab pre 1993mustang.

Plese tell me the list of the car that can use the auto-trans

to my 1988mustang 5.0 lx conv.

That auto-trans is from 1998 mustang 3.8-v6
can I use it form my 1988mustang?
