Default Call me crazy, but there are weird things flying over Mecca!

Two different nights now I have seen something in the sky that looks like this:

The first night was a week or so ago and I kind of dismissed it, even though it appeared to be moving in an eratic pattern kind of like a drunken bumble bee. It moved slowly across the sky kind of moving one way for awhile, then drifting back a bit, and so on.

Last night I saw it again, only this time there were 4 of them in various places in the sky roughly a couple miles apart except for two which were close together with one above the other and pretty much copied each others' moves for awhile, and I saw a couple of them ZIP (not just move) back and forth a few times only to return the the original position and hover around. They were there longer than I could stay up and watch.

Anyone have any kind of thoughts as to what this might be? I'm not one to believe in UFO's, but I'm beginning to wonder.

I seen a UFO once......SERIOUS I have not been the same since, it changed my out look on life.

There was nothing else it could have been when I was 15 I was in my backyard working on my dirtbike at like 1:00am and I looked up and saw this huge orb in the sky just hovering there, moving left to right slightly. I yelled for my dad and he came outside and also seen it. We stared at it for 10 seconds or so then it took off like a cork screw staight up in the air at an incredible rate of speed.

Me and my dad just looked at each other and said OH ****!! That was the only time that I have ever cussed in front of my dad but considering the circumstances he didnt mind.

Ever since then I have had an interest in UFO's cause I know what I saw was not of this world NO WAY!

Go ahead and call me crazy,
It is what it is...

Over time, I have gone from a firm believer to a firm disbeliever that we have ever been "visited" by anyone from another planet. Don't get me wrong, I also firmly believe there is intelligent life "out there", I just don't think they've been here. Yet. Aside from the immense distances that would have to be travelled, there are the odds. Of the trillions of planets out there, what are the odds that they picked the Earth to visit? I can't explain every "sighting", and I won't even try, but these are my feelings. I don't think anyone who has seen something unexplained is crazy, either. It just seems that as time goes on, more and more "unexplained" events are becoming explained.

Just my nickel.

Take care,
-Chris

I have never been one to believe or disbelive in aliens, ghosts, or anything along those lines. I have always been one to say show me and let me decide for myself.

After seeing this I still don't consider myself to be a believer, but I haven't ruled anything out yet. Instead I am trying to find a logical explaination for what I saw. Could it have been someone with a few remote control airplanes, time to spare, and a few buddies who thought it would make a cool gag? Or maybe the government is testing out that new propulsion system they discoverd from the spacecraft they found back in the 60's. Maybe someone zapped fireflys with some sort of radiation to make them light up different colors. I have no idea, but my wife saw this too so I know it had nothing to do with me, my state of mind, or my eyes playing tricks on me. It was just plain weird.

Are there any photography nuts here that can suggest a good digital camcorder to get that would get a good shot of these? I just have this feeling I will see them again. What's bad is, I don't think I'll be a bit surprized if I do.

2FastLX I seen something such as that when I was alot younger. Our family along with another family went out to cottage country and we were sitting outside night fishing. And we looked up and you could see a bright light it was colourful and it would just shoot across the sky. I know this was no plain. It was moving way to fast to be a plain. It was something that's for sure. If a UFO I am not sure. I've always been interested with UFO's, and things of that nature. I'm not even sure what my belief is on them, so many stick by there stories of actually seeing them, but I also know there has alot of people that have seen them and have been proven a fraud like the people that were making markings in Farmers field, but there was also markings that honestly could of been made by man, they were to perfect and to big for someone to do.

Makes you wonder,
I don't believe we are alone.

Being an ex-military aviation guy and a civilian pilot, I have a bit of experience in this sort of stuff....

I personally don't believe in UFOs, I believe most sightings of truly wierd stuff in the sky (those that can't be explained) are classified aircraft. Especially sightings at night...
You'd be amazed at what is on the drawing boards at Dryden Flight Research Center, Lockheed's Skunkworks, and Northrop\Grumman.

Heck, NASA's X-32 could stop in midair, stall, fall like a rock, and still turn 360 degrees under controlled flight as long as they wanted (until they ran out of altitude...) and this thing wasn't even a "Black" project...

The pre-cursor to the F-117 stealth fighter was prowling the skies in the late 70s.

Yep, silent helicopters, super-maneuverable aircraft, new engine technology. That stuff is here folks.... You don't really think the Air Force pays 400 dollars for a toilet seat do you?

I will not get too deep into what I believe cause I dont want to debate.

What I seen went straight up and into space super fast and made a loud hum sound when it did it. I was not religious till I seen that. After what I saw a guy coming back from life after 7 days and a guy parting the ocean seemed possible.

To add to what Hammer said...

The SR-71 -- the fastest powered aircraft in the world -- was on trial runs before we landed on the moon. Think about that.

You could be seeing planes flying around that you won't know anything about for twenty years.

To me, if it were some secret Government aircraft then why would they advertise it with bright colored flashing lights that say LOOK THIS WAY!!!!!!! Unless of course if the propulsion system gave off a light similar to that. But even if that were true, they wouldn't test secret Government aircraft here. This is the home of the worlds largest Covered Bridge Festival, not Government testing facilities. Well, except for the Newport VX gas storage facility nearby that is. It kind of looks like it could be an Area 51.

I don't know what these light orbs are, and I couldn't begin to guess. But I do plan to get some pics and video footage if it clears back up, and I'm going to look at them through a telescope to see exactly what they are if they come around again.

Oh yeah, mustangdani55 - Mecca is 60 miles straight West of Indy just South of hwy 36. If you ever get over this way watch out for those little green guys

Default Have we been visitited before?

Hmmm. I think this is a very intersting thread. I love things on such topics as UFO's, Supernatural, and other Intelligent Life Forms.

I use to scoff at people, fanatics, that think the earth has been/ or is being visited by beings from another origin.

While flipping through history books, and finding something that caught my eye, I have since done some research on the subject. It was more than eyebrow raising. Although alot of information and history was lost at the demise of some south american and early american cultures, given the knowledge we have of them, I had to reconsider my postion on subject.

How did such ancient cultures know of all nine planets before the advent of the telescope by a lens grinder by the name of Hans Lipperhey. The last one not being visible with the naked eye. One civilization had temples made, in representation of all nine planets, and had them in exaggerated proportions to show a basic size scale.

Why would one carve a mountain flat for a good mile? Perfectly flat. There is also nothing in there religouis beliefs to expalin that.

Also look at some rennasaince paintings, and pre rennasaince paintings. There are rather peculiar flying objects present in some, and as the main subject matter in some.

I myself once had seen unexplained objects in the night sky. The experience last 3 hours. I had a friend there to witnesse it also. Its a long story, and wasnt anything like ET, or Aliens, kind of experience. But interesting none the less.

One thing that bugs me is when people say Well, Why would aliens want to visit earth anyway? WHY NOT Science is driven out of a curiosity.

If we were capable of space travel, and found a primitive/ early civilazation on another planet we would defenitly be studying them.

Well, I have to cut my post short now. I have so much more to say, but I have to shave and head on off to work.

I saw a show on TV a month or so ago about ancient civilizations that built Pyrimids similar to the Egyptians did that were constructed some 50 miles apart and were all tied together to form a portion of the constellation Orion. They also showed a stone that was lying on the ground that stood 75 feet tall at one time that was stood on end and was 12 feet across it's diameter. Now how could these ancient civilizations have accomplished such tasks? Thought provoking isn't it? If not you must not have a very open mind.

Not that I believe, but I believe in the possibility. There's far too many stars and planets out there for every one of them to be lifeless, and to think that even if there is life out there that we are the most advanced, or even the least worthy of study is more unbelievable to me.

A friend said it best when he told me "It's not that it's so hard to believe, it just doesn't mean %$#@ until I see it myself". I felt the same way until a few days ago.

This is absolutely NO joke. I know for a fact that alien life forms do exist and have visited the earth. I do not know for sure whether they abduct people or not. I can not name who I know, but it is someone everyone here would have heard of, and FOR SURE knows that aliens exist. I'm not going to elaborate, but if you want to believe me, I swear to God that this person has told me that aliens have been here and that our government knows about it.

If you don't believe me, that is perfectly fine. I am not looking to argue. I know what I claim would be hard to swallow, but it is the God's honest truth, and I know myself that it is a fact.

2fast-
I took a year of Psychology in high school, and the very well endowed teacher (God she looked good) was also a buff on Egyptian history. One day someone mentioned how impossible it would be to build the pyramids without "outside" help, and she went nuts. She went on a 20 minute rant about how many pyramids were built that failed. She pointed out that the relics that still stand today were just the tip of the iceberg. There were thousands of pyramids, and observatories for the stars, etc. that came and went first. She said she hated it when people acted like the few that still exist were the only ones, and that those folks either had help or got real lucky. She really went off. Makes sense to me. If an outsider showed up and saw an aircraft carrier, they would be fools to think that was mans first attempt at a boat.

BTW, I've been inside the big pyramid at Cheops (Cairo). It was exciting climbing up the long, narrow shafts. Got to the main chamber, and you know what I saw? Nothing. The damn thing had been robbed several thousand years ago. Just a few tourists and some rocks. Still kinda neat, though (Tut's tomb was much more impressive).

Take care,
-Chris

I guess I should add my nickel too. Is there life on other planets? Well, it would sure be a waste of space not to. Have we been "visited" ? Who's to say? You take one side of the arguement and I'll take the other. Since none of us has concrete proof to support it, outside of "this one guy that I know", it's impossible to say who's right or wrong.

I think it would be kick azz if we were being visited by intelligent life from distant worlds, but I don't think they would want us to know that they exist. Or they exist solely to keep us from finding out about the rest of the universe. Remember, our brains only use 10% of it's potential. The other 90% is used to keep it's funtions secret.

Very good post, I like to hear about things like this. Too bad we will never know the truth. Later.
