![]() Hi all,
Replaced the valve cover gaskets in my buddy's 98 LX. I thought that his car would have roller rockers but it doesn't. Does my 93 GT? He says there is no difference between mine and his. This true? Jayson |

![]() I doubt there is any difference. The only roller rocker cars from the factory were the Cobra's.
While your car may be "roller cam," that's a totally different animal than roller rockers. Roller cams means the lifter has a roller tip that rides along the cam lobe. Roller rockers have a roller to reduce friction on the rocker. The rockers at the top end of the engine are almost always stamped 1.6:1 ratio, and pedestal mount. Very few production Mustangs had stud mounted rockers, and as far as I know, the Cobra was the only one that came with a 1.7:1 ratio, or a roller rocker from the factory. There may be some others way in the past, but not that I'm aware of right now. |

![]() There's only one way to find out...
Unless someone had modified your car, you've got the same stamped steel 1.6 rockers as your pal. Later |
