I got the american thunder, and love it. Alot of people will tell you they don't like the "drone" at 2000 rpm's, but I like it. It's MUCH louder with an off-road pipe. Enjoy, you'll love this mod.. it was the first thing I did to my stang!

I bought my car with 2 chamber flows on it and it sounds awesome. I only have the mufflers not the cat-back though. I also love the drone at 2k rpm. I would say get the american thunder.

Talking good mod!

I've got the Borla side exaust now myself, but before that i had the Flow 2 chamber, and I really did like them!!! They had a great sound.. but it was not too much! Personally i like some noise. The flows are nice...That too was the first mod I did to my car, the flows and the off road h-pipe! But I do like now the sound of my Borlas better!!!!! Good luck! Topless

Talking :)

I just got the straight Borlas w/ the off road h-pipe and no cats...The sound is DEF. different than the 2 chamber. The flows are louder at an idle, but the Borlas have a throatier sound when your on it. Deeper. I'm not familiar w/ the 3 chamber Flows...cant help ya there!

I'm going to play the "Jerk" on this one, just to let you know another opinion. I have a 2.5" off road H pipe, 2 chamber flows, and turndowns. My car sounds mean as hell, but I have to crank the stereo up just to hear it. If someone is talking to me while the "drone" is going on, then we almost have to yell at each other. To me, flowmasters just get old and almost annoying after a while. However if you're going to use the stock H pipe, then it won't be as bad as mine. If I had tailpipes instead of turndowns, then it would help as well with the noise. Next time I get mufflers will either be dynomax or something like that, and some tailpipes. Just some food for thought.

I bought the 2 chamber flowmasters and I love them. They are not that loud with the stock h-pipe. I took a little before and after video when I went from stock to the flowmasters (at idle) on a digital camera. E-mail me if you want me to send them to you. touchtonr@mail.lakecity.cc.fl.us

While everyone likes the 2 chamber... I bought my car with the 3 chambers. It does sound great. I can't give you a comparison, but I get comments when I get on it about how nice it sounds. These three chamber mufflers also have the drone.

I am thinking about trying something different.

As you can tell, 2 chamber flowmasters are like buttholes. There is NOTHING wrong with that, but I prefer to be the odd-ball on the block. Every mustang in my "hood" has 2ch flows...

I ran a dynomax ultraflo 2.5" cat back sytem with a mac power chamber and dynomax equal length shorties. This produced a relatively mellow idle tone; however, when you stick your foot to the floor it sounds wicked (kinda like vroom, vroom ). No interior drone like the flow's - and I too was complimented on how "unique" it sounded. I later removed the tailpipes and welded 3" turn downs on and THAT eliminated the mellow idle tone. It sounded even more wicked...

Try something different...

I now run magnaflow mufflers with turndowns (same as an ultraflo on the inside with the difference being the welded on end caps and fully polished) The dynomax mufflers have the rolled seams (not quite the quality as the magnaflows)

My family's exhaust shop that I work at carry/stock flowmasters and we also have the magnaflow products available for order...

I have installed three cat back kits on a Cobra, a GT with a Cobra rear valence, and an LX... That is, it was the kit with the polished 3" tailpipes, I haven't done/sold any with the GT style tp's. Very impressive sounding even with stock manifolds/headers and the factory cat h-pipe. Mellow idle tone and all the performance exhaust rumble you need at WOT

Ultimately it's up to you of course, just discussing options...
I have installed a Bassani cat-back kit on a mildly modded stang that sounded good too, and the tp's (LX-Cobra) have a removable resonator/silencer.

Both kits are around 500 bills (Bassani is fully stainless, the Magnaflow kits are aluminized with stainless muffs and tp's, and the Flowmaster kits {a bit cheaper last I checked} are fully aluminized (LX kits are available with the stainless tp's)

I have installed more flowmaster mufflers on mustangs and done custom duals with flows on trucks/street rods than imaginable...

I prefer the sound of the three chamber for mostly street vehicles, to give you an idea where I stand on preference issues. The two chamber is LOUD (if that's what you're going for, get the two chamber flow's). Three chambers are kinda quiet with stock h-pipe's and sound really good with and off-road pipe. Very good with turndowns...

Decisons-decisions to make... (whew that was a long post)
