Default throttle position sensor

I was wondering if someone can tell me if it is at all possible to use a TPS from a 2.3 mustang on a 5.0 mustang, i know they are a different set up and both sensors look different but the 2.3 sits right on the throttle body, i am just wondering if it is safe to use one.
