I have lost a race or two to some fast hondas I am asking because you guys seem to have a beef with the import guys could that be why alot of them think we are a bunch of ***$e$ so they feel the need to try and take on every mustang on the street

I don't recall losing to an import off the top of my head. If I did, it was when I was mostly stock. (that was a long time ago
) I have had lots of imports try to mess with me. After I hand their @$$ to them, they still want some more... it's like if they think their car will get faster the more times they race.. Silly ricers! |

When I was bone stock, I lost to a highly modified turbo civic with slicks in the front.... scary part is this: even with the highly tuned "racing" engine, turbo, and slicks.... (his 60 foot was like 1.5-1.6) he STILL only pulled down a 13.8.
I have not lost to an import before that or since, and after 4 years of dealing with these angry bees, I've only seen about 3 or 4 of those things that could be considered "fast". Despite what the rice boys tell everyone, a Honda Civic is not a performance car. Also, import does not equal rice. There are some pretty quick import sports cars out there. Rice is trying to have the appearance\attitude of speed, instead of actually being fast. It's all about the image with these morons. What's scary is that for the amount of money they pour into appearance packages, they might just have been able to decrease their ET...

Never lost to an import but haven't raced many, either so probably not a good indicator.
Of course there are 'fast' imports around, mostly 13-second cars, but they're few and far between the thousands of little Hondas and Toyotas with ricer crap plastered all over them and the obligatory fart muffler with a coffee-can pipe. Most imports want to race Mustangs because the Mustang has long held the reputation of being a fast car - stock. If you want to prove something, you go after the big guns. Unfortunately for ricers, most have no clue as to what makes a car fast or what the difference is between a high-16-second Civic with a few mods and a high 13-second Mustang with a few mods - until they get to see the tailights of the 'Stang quickly disappearing in the distance as they desperately mash the gas pedal of their screaming little sewing-machine-powered car in futile pursuit. Then they want to try it again. Proving that they are (a) terminally stupid and (b) masochists. |

Well I am near stock so i've lost to a few
, supras, an awd eclipse turbo running lots of boost, about a month ago I lost to a gutted crx with a prelude motor that I think might have been spraying on top of that, was at least a low 13 sec car surprised the hell outa me. I'm sure with a heads/cam/intake package i'd be pretty much untouchable to most imports.....

I lost to some sort of nissan sedan in my Dodge once. I almost cried!
For the most part most of them around here are very slow. I've over heard a few of them brag about running 11's at the strip on Sunday nites. Too bad all we have here is an 1/8th! My stang by the way is still slow and only runs 9's in the 1/8th.

Last year: lost once to a modded/overboosted AWD eclipse turbo (like FivepointOH). That was when all I had was 3.73's and a K&N Filter.
This year, with a lot more mods: not one loss. Raced a few guys who 'thought' they were fast. It's hard to get a *******' race with the way the 'Stang idles now!!! Seems like they just lose all sense of wanting to race when they pull up next to me and hear that lopey-5.0-through-flowmasters sound. Damn car jumps and jerks at stoplights, too. Not like I don't like it!!!!

Several times, because they wanted to race through traffic, and all I wanted to do was a quick 70-100 run and then slow it back down. They kept going. So...I guess I "lost".

I haven't lost yet. Last Fri. I was cruising in the truck and there was this awesome blue supra and he was trying to get a few cars to race him, pulling up next to them etc... you know the drill, well I was behind him this whole time, when I pulled up beside him, Lil ol Supra boy doesn't want to race anymore, and his face looked about like this
. LOL. |

I imagine you would run a 12 with a stock 302 in a miata. It would be cool.

I "lost" to a Prelude doing a flyby, that had a head start of about 5 cars and 20 mph only because i missed 5th....if you can count that. And that was mostly stock as well, i'm pretty sure i'd whoop it within seconds now. I got up to it's door within a few seconds (like 4 or 5 and i missed 5th 3 times....and i wasn't on any drugs or anything so i have no excuse
). There are alot of garbage imports around here and i've wasted quite a few preludes and more than my share of stickered out civics, even mazda MX-6's among other things. I've beat a couple of older corvette's though, which makes me happy (mid-late 80's style).I need to go to the track to be able to back my talk though,

I have never lost to an import. Probably because I rarely race them. I just rev them at the light so my wife and I can chuckle at their one wheel peel.
When I was stationed at Fort Hood I had a 90 Chevy Cavalier. Some dude with a red Honda scooter took me off the light. That was embarassing. ![]()
