![]() I have a buddy who's thinking about getting a newer car, and he was debating between these two cars...either like a '95 GT 5-speed, or a '93-96 Z28. I heard the '95 GT's are supposed to be bad azz, and I also know the z28's are hard to work on, and expensive to buy parts for, but they have more horsepower and torque. What do you guys think?????
P.S. He would want to upgrade and put performance bolt ons on the car. ------------------ ************************* '89 GT, T-5, Bored .030 Over, GT-40P heads, MAC 1 5/8" headers, MAC Off-Road H-Pipe, 2 1/2" Flowmasters, Edelbrock 65mm T.B., Trick Flow Intakes, Crane 2031 cam, 1.7 Roller Rockers, Keith Black hyp. flat top Pistons, Screamin' Deamon Coil, Champion Plugs, March Underdrive Pulleys, 255lph Fuel Pump, SVO Motorsport Clutch, Adjustable Fuel Pressure Regulator, Formula GP Suspension, MAC Upper & Lower Control Arms, FMS 3.73 Gears. ************************* |

![]() Well the Z car is definatly going to be faster. Has the LT1 motor rated at 285 hp, and will definatly be harder to work on. The 95 GT is a 5.0 with you know 215hp. It heavier than a fox so its slower. Easier to work on and you obviously know all the 5.0 mods.

![]() I would go for the 95 gt, the gt is going to beat it with the simple mods of underdrive pulleys, 3.73 gears, & full exhaust. tell him thatif he goes with the gt that he could also add a supercharger & blow away corvettes (maby even dodge vipers!!!)
or heads cam & an intake. i hope he goes with the gt. just tell him FORD stands for First On Race Day. Good luck! |

![]() You cant say the Z car isnt a more powerful base to start with. You know were all gonna like stangs better, but you could just as well put a Blower on the Z also and have more power.

![]() you can expect the LT1 to run about 14.3-14.5 or so in the quarter right out of the box compared to maybe a 14.9-15.1 out of a 5spd 95GT, the thing is though price and ease to work on, my bro had a 95TA and i would easily rather throw a set of longtubes on my car before i would even change the plugs on his car, the price of the cars used will be about the same but the aftermarket for the 5.0 is soooo much better than it is for the LT1, far cheaper and more to choose from, plue the 5.0 responds really well to even small mods, unlike the LT1, and your right Skyman you could put a blower on the camaro too but even Summit's ad for a vortech blower says it has everything you need to install it in less than a day then says Camaros may take a little bit longer
