Default hoods and intakes

My buddy has a friend at work that tells him that if he buys an intake for his 95gt that he will have to buy a new strut tower bar, and if he buys a new strut tower bar he will have to buy a new hood because neither will fit under the stock hood. I'm pretty sure you don't have too. Some one with a new body style please inlighten us. Thanks

well i have an 87 stang but i am sure if u get a new intake manifold for a 95 you would have to get a differnt strut tower brace. I know my intake manifold barely fits under the hood. I had to put a decent ding in it so i could get it down

thats my .02

I have the Edelbrock Victor Jr. upper and lower intake. It sits pretty high. My hood is a total of 3" cowl. It barly clears it without thouching it. When I had my Edelbrock Performer 5.0 upper and lower intake, it fit under the stock hood just fine.

Bottom of the story... it depends on what intake it is, and what kind of hood you have. Most strut tower braces will only fit the stock intake (or intakes that are very similar in dementions).
