Default opinions on chips

Who do you like for the best performance chips out there? For me it would have to be mail order chip. The only one I know of to dyno and cut a chip around here in southern Ontario is Sean Hyland but since he didn"t put the blower on my car he said he has no interest in helping me out with a chip, NICE GUY! NOT! Running a super chip right now and hate it. Can't get them to help out with a reburn.

Well, that wasnt very nice of him to deny you help with your chip. First, get rid of the superchip. One wrong bump and the chip may lose contact with the ecc causing your car to stall. Unless your computer housing modified. I say this because I tried to use a superchip in mine, but the car wouldnt start. Just for kicks I took the ecc out of the housing and plugged the chip in and it worked. Put the housing back on and it didnt work. Anyway, any piggyback style chip that actually goes all the way in the housing would be fine if your gonna dyno tune it. Diablo is good, and the autoliogic has a few more parameters that can be used to tune the car. As for where to get it done, any reputable performance shop that has a dyno in your area should do. Try your yellow pages.

I would say go with the Diablo chip. They are good all around chips. The new Delta chip they have is cool if you haven't heard of it. It can be switched from the stock tune to two othe different tunes on the fly at the flip of a switch.

Autologic is the best chip on the market for it's ability to alter pretty much everything the ECM has to offer. However, most of the Autologic tuners out there don't alter all of the options given. All though I also wouldn't alter as much as I would if I didn't have the car on the dyno. I do mail order for NA cars but not blown applications. Blown cars are so much more application specific than NA cars. DiabloSport would have to be my second choice for a chip. They are right up there with Autologic. I guess the best tuner to find is someone that isn't going to try to get you the best fuel mileage. These tuners are too conservative with the fuel enrichment scalers, plus they hardly ever tune the fuel curves on the base tables. Personally if your consistently looking for ways to bring more HP out of the car, I would look into something like the PMS from Anderson Ford. The learning curve on it is pretty simple and it grows with your needs.
