Axle help
Hey Everyone,
I am planning on putting in a new set of axles into my mustang this summer. I need to stick with the 28 spline, and have pretty much made up my mind to get a set of Moser axles. Is this something I can do pretty easily, or should I take it to a shop to have done? Do the bearings need to be pressed on, or will they just slide on. Any other hints? Thanks Harry |

Harry - I'm in the middle of swapping out my rear-end components and have found it to be fairly easy to do. If you're just doing the axles, it should be no problem at all.
Basically, you will just be popping open the differential cover, draining the fluid, push the axles in a little so that you can remove the C-clips from the center of the spider gear, then you can slide out the old axles (of course this is after you've removed the brake assembly). Then, as long as the bearings are still good (which they probably are just fine) slide in the new axles, drop in the C-clips and you're good to go! E
