Question What pieces are needed to make a 393 stroker

What crank, rods, and pistons are used to make a 393 stroker? Also what are the advantages of a 393?

You can go about making 393s a number of ways.
-1st you can use a stroker crank from Scat, FRPP, or Summit, these are cast cranks with 3.85 stroke that use stock 351W connecting rods and 302 style pistons. These make for a good NA bottom end.
-2nd you can buy a complete kit from an aftermarket company like Probe, FRPP, Scat and many more. These kits come with all parts including rings, bearings and most other parts.

I would use a 351W based stroker due to the fact that a stock 351W block can hanble upwards to 700hp. I have built a few 393s using the Scat cranks, stock rods and have guys pounding 600hp with no problems.

what do ya need to install it in a fox body?motor mounts?lower intake? does it bolt up to the bell housing having a hard time to find a used 5.0 block for a stroker but 351's are easy to find.

To put a 351W in a Fox body you need to get a set of 351W swap headers (BBK Longtubes are great) or BBK, FRPP make shorties that bolt up to your existing H-pipe. Motor mounts are the same so you can use your existing mounts if their in good condition, but it would be a good time to replace them. The 351W uses a 28oz imbalance so you need a new flywheel, your 302 won't work, along with a new SFI or stock 351W balancer. A stock T-5 and bellhousing will bolt right up along with the starter.
For Lower intakes you have a few choices depending on what induction system you are going to use. The 351W has a taller deck height so that moves the cylinder heads up and further apart, meaning a wider lower intake. For carb setup you can get the intakes from Edelbrock. For EFI, Trick Flow, Edelbrock and FRPP makes a lower intake. The Edelbrock and FRPP uses 302 uppers and the TFS uses the upper "R" intake plennum. Hood clearance will be a problem, but a 2.5" cowl hood will fix that. Although I'm experimenting with converting a Torker II intake to Fuel Injection with a Probe Power Elbow, to see if I can fit it under a stock hood. (wouldn't that be a sleeper)
I found the swap to be easy with only having to buy a minimum of different parts. But once you have a 351W with some good power, Rad, Fuel, MA&TB, and transmission should be upgraded. (I've turned 3 T-5s into soup with my 351W that makes 450lbs)

A 90' truck block will work fine. If you can find a 95' block they are machined to accept any 5.0L roller cam. If you use a older block you can get a retrofit roller cam from Crane or Comp Cams. Or you can use any 5.0L cam with link-bar roller lifters.

Money and if your single that helps to.

Crank- rods- pistons and all the other small parts that it takes to make an engine

also if its efi you need a 351 truck distributor and a good manifold i prefure a box type ive made my own in the past but am going to look at trick flows 351 lower with there boxed upper.

Oil pan for a fox body-flywheel more money .

advatages will take what ever you can throw at it and huge low end torque .
