Default Ford Racing

I'm pretty new to this, but is there some reason that no one uses Ford Racing parts?

Usually their parts are a lot less agressive than what most people want, and their prices aren't any better then whats out there from other companies. I see a lot of people running their lowering springs though, but I think thats because of the cheap price.

The reason I had this question is because when I was looking for a throttle body I noticed that the Ford Racing model came with a TPS already installed. Whereas most others require you to use the one from the stock throttle body. I read several write ups on this and I hear it's a pain to get off. Guess I'll find out shortly.

For what it's worth the TPS is a pain to remove. Depending on how valuable your time is, I might suggest just buying a new TPS and not trying to remove the old one. You will save perhaps an hour and you will know that you are starting with a new TPS. Though, you might get lucky and it could come right off.

In my case, I ended up braking the original TPS although I did not figure it out until I had it all back together and the car ran like crap.

Jason,

Unless you're getting an upper plenum too I would hold off on the TB; they are worthless on a mostly stock NA car without changing the plenum in conjunction.
