Angry power windows grrrrrrrrrr

i'm sure this probably isnt the right place for this post, but i figured maybe somebody with a fox on this forum might have had a similar problem. anyway tonight i stopped at the atm to roll down my window, and of course it didn't go down even though only hours before i had it down. figured it was power window switch so i disassembled to inspect and when i was doing this i just so happened through dumb luck to have the door open and the switch worked so i thought loose connection, what an easy fix. closed the door no power windows again, after jiggling wires from inside the car i again opened the door, and the windows worked. being very pissed i figured hmmm door open windows work door closed windows no work, bad. anyway anybody ever have a similar scenario, how did you fix it, obviously something is being pinched in the harness between the door and body. not really sure how to resolve, sorry for putting it in this one, but you guys always have such great answers.
thanks oh yeah 89 gt hatchback

Simple fix. You have a broken/cut wire in the harness between the door and the body. Kind of a pain, but take the harness from the door to the body apart, and check the wires. Just from years of opening/closing the door, the wires work themselves back and forth, back and forth. Not a big deal, just kind of a pain to get in there is all, not much room to work.

Good Luck!
