60' times & diffs
Here's a pic of my latest, bestest 60' time. A 1.49 on a STOCK explorer 31 spline diff.
I'm guessing that the Sploder diff isn't gonna do this too many more times. So I got to wondering, what are everyone's best 60' times, and more importantly what kinda diff are you all running? I'm thinking spool, even though it'll have bad street manners. Anyone running an Auburn? Detroit? Eaton? Let's hear the skinny guys...........

Re: 60' times & diffs
I am pulling 1.64 60fts on the stock rear end with 03' cobra carbon fiber clutches, 3.73 gears and 26X8 Hoosiers.
31 spline diff- I know guys in the 1.3's with the Truck/explorer 31 spline diff. What axles are you running? Looking at the pic it looks like you could benefit from an air bag in the passenger side rear spring.

Re: 60' times & diffs
You should have come by the shop on Saturday Jester. After Smackdown was rained out we had a few cars stop by for dyno pulls. We had a casual day, just strapping cars down and doing some tuning.

I had to leave Friday night, had to be at the Fire Station bright and early Sat. morning. I ALMOST ran up there Friday afternoon, we got rained out around 2:30/3:00 Mr. South, sounds like you need new clutches/sliders in your diff. Rebuild kits are available at Summit, Jeg's, ebay, etc etc.

Re: 60' times & diffs
Are stock axles 31 spline, or 28?
I guess your able to use the 31's because the exp. diff. is 31 spline? Will the cobra carbon fiber clutches fit in my '88 stock diff? Are the 31 spline axles that much stronger than the 28's?

stock are 28 Yep, truck/sploder diffs are 31 spline. Yep! Cobra clutches/sliders are same size/shape just carbon fiber Oh yeah!!! Once you see a 31 spline up close and in person, you won't believe the difference.

Re: 60' times & diffs
I cut 1.46 with my 31spline spool (which is fine on the street by the way)

Re: 60' times & diffs
The only part that kinda sucks is in real tight turning, especially while backing up. As long as you have somewhat of a soft tire on it (i use the MT et street radials) it is fine. I will never go back to any sort of differential.

Re: 60' times & diffs
My best was a 1.54. While yall are all smiling about this (yall 60fts) Roll up under the old stangs in each of your driveways and inspect the tourqe boxes. Upper and lower, and check them regularly. And Hey to all, it's been a while.

What brand of LOCKER in your opinion would be the best to go with?
