Post Power to Manual Rack Question

I have a 90gt that i was thinking about putting a manual rack on. Someone told me that I can disconnect the hoses and lines off the power rack and take off the pump. Then fill the rack with grease and cap it off. Is this true? if not what is the cheapest way to comvert to manual ?
Thanks
