Exclamation How do I know if my car is EEC or Non EEC?

I'm looking at buying a new rotor and cap kit for my 1991 Mustang GT. But there are two types. A Kit for EEC and a kit for Non EEC. How do I know which is for my car?

Thanks!

Easy, the EEC IV system came out in 84 and was used till 95 in all Mustangs, so you have a EEC system if the engine is stock.

FYI the difference from Duraspark to EEC is that the EEC has no mechanical or vaccum advance provisions, hence the rotor is fixed on the distributor shaft. Also the presence of the imfamous TFI module on the side of the distributor signals a EEC system.

I usually pick stuff up along the way and remember the little tricks I had to figure out the hard way. I worked on a 84 3.8 Ragtop and it could have had a Duraspark or EEC system depending on the build date, I nailed it the first try the parts guy was suprised I knew what I was looking for
