I use NevrDull wadding polish for stuff like my intake manifold and the rough kinda metal stuff, not polished Al. I somehow think it would be to tough for polished Al, but I could be wrong.

Let me tell you what I used on my polished aluminum Weld Wheels. It's Blue Magic Metal Polish Cream in a 7 oz. plastic container. My Welds had gotten pretty bad with oxidation and were getting really dull. I put some of this stuff on and I am not exaggerating at ALL, it restored the shine to NEW condition. I was surprised that it worked so well. Definitely worth looking into and a small container of it only costs like $4.
