I'm also throwing a big-block motor in my car (514c.i. or something like that) but I certainly don't hope I will need a 5" cowl hood. I think if you use a motor plate you can keep the motor low enough to get by with a 4".
We'll see. I hope I'm right. If you do get the hood and get it on, let us know how the clearance is. Thanks and good luck!
