as far as electric, I am happy with my Craftsman, it is heavier duty than any Dremel and comes with a flex-shaft. I cannot remember the part#, but it is the only one I saw with a grounded plug. It is infinitely adjustable 0-30,000rpm.
It was $99 a little more than a dremel, it has no tool kit, but it won't bog down on cast iron. my .02
