All right, I found out the converter is fine & still bolted on. Ugh....

Next operation: dropping the pan & looking for stray parts. At least the rebuild kit is only $100, and I might as well get that B&M converter while I'm at it, eh? Trying to be optimistic, I'm thinking someone's trying to tell me "get building this thing!" That's the message I'm getting, anyway. Wish me luck.
