![]() Summit is starting to piss me off. I received a package from them today, an Edelbrock part I ordered, and it was shipped in the Edelbrock box. They didn't put the Edelbrock box inside a brown box as usual. But that wasn't the problem.
The Edelbrock box had factory tape on it sealing the box. It was ripped open, and re-taped shut with clear packing tape. Upon further inspection, some of the items inside the box that were originally individually wrapped were also opened up previously, and then just thrown back in the box. Also, one part had several nicks and scratches and gouges. They could have been production line nicks and scratch marks, but maybe not? Some of them looked a little too big to be production line. What gives? Did they send me someone elses return? And this isn't the first time this has happened to me with Summit. I believe I'll be ordering from Jegs from now on. |

![]() I'm not dis-satisfied at all. They are always good to me. I recently ordered a trans-kit which comes in a pretty big box itself. I also ordered a set of roller rockers for a bud and a ring filer. They opened the trans box and put the two smalle boxes in that. I kinda wish they hadnt done that but it didnt mess any of my parts up so no biggie. I always get my stuff in two days no matter what I order too. Nothin but good experiences here man. Sorry about your luck. About gettin someelse's return. I dont know I would think they looked at it if it was a return. They wont accept installed returns anyway so if it is a return it has never been "Installed".

![]() ![]() Man, I've ordered from them a few times and have NEVER had any problems with them. Their shipping is the fastest I've ever encountered (3 days max), everything has come in good shape, etc. Also, I have a few good friends that have also NEVER had any problems with them.

![]() They've been dang good to me, too. I have ordered countless parts from them. Only one part has ever been on backorder, and it was a plate for the bottom of my Edelbrock fuel pump, Jegs had them on backorder too. Everything is shipped to my door within 2 or 3 days of ordering. They have really good tech people there, too. I should find all the receipts from Summit that I have and total up that amount. I bet it's close to $2000. I had one pop for a little over $900, though. That was 4 wheels and 4 tires.

![]() Ive probably spent over $8000 from them over the last 4 years. I guess the more you spend, the crappier service you get? No, its probably just my bad luck...story of my life...so I'm used to it.
Dont get me wrong, I have had many perfectly good orders from summit, but at least 3 that I can remember off the top of my head where they really screwed up, eithier sending me the wrong part or a part that looked like it was thrown around the block a few times. |

![]() they have been great to me. As long as my order is in before 4 pm, it is sitting on my porch the next day.
For 7 bucks shipping you cant beat that. |

![]() i myself have never needed anything shipped from Summit because i'm only 15 mins away. but i have a friend in Florida who has ordered a few things and he has nothing but good experiences (or so he says). so i guess it's bad luck. Summit's as reliable as you'll find i'm afraid.

![]() I would have to agree with the others - never had a problem with Summit (about $5000 total ordered from them in 2 years).

![]() I've used them quite a bit as well. Now that you mention it Mach, I ordered some Welds from them last year and the front ones looked like they had been on a car before and there is a blemish on one of them. The fronts weren't packed and wrapped like the rears, no doubt they were a return. I was gonna send them back but just couldn't wait to put them on. The blemish actually looks like a defect though, so I think I'm gonna send it to Welds..

![]() Yeah, I was going to send my package back, but everything is serviceable and all the parts were there, so Ill just live with it.
I do think Jegs service is superior, I order a lot from them as well, and they never screwed anything up at all, and they usually throw a free hat in the box, although they charge a couple dollars more for handling, so I usually cheap out and go with summit, but not anymore. |

![]() I have ordered from Jegs a lot too. But I usually use Summit out of the two. Jegs usually takes longer on shipping for me, usually 1-2 days more than Summit. It might just be my location, but it's consistently slower.

![]() I honestly can't tell the difference between Jegs and Summit. I did use Jegs alot more in the past simply because they had a 800#, then Summit got one. I had to return something to Summit before(unopened) and had no problems. I really think they would help me out with Welds, if I were to have a problem getting this wheel fixed or replaced.
There are a couple places I absolutely would not order from again.. Summit isn't one of them. Free hat?! Man, I ordered loads from Jegs and never got a hat! My brother makes one order(distributor for a 72 Mach) and gets a hat and stickers.. I was like WTF?!? |

![]() The only problem I have had with Summit was with my AFPR. It probably wasnt even their fault. The box said 94-95, but the regulator was for 93-down. Dont be surprised when you see that the tape has been cut on packages that you receive. Have you ever stood around a UPS warehouse?? I was there late one night waiting for my aerospace brakes to show up and I saw the employees cutting boxes open and checking the contents. Kinda made me wonder.

![]() Hey Mach 1, sounds like u have a little bad luck. Oh well. If you've spent $8,000, I'm sure you'll get something bad. Better luck next time.

![]() I worked at ups as a seasonal feeder driver and never saw anyone opening boxes. However I have seen them break open when trailer doors were opened and stuff fell out due to sloppy loading. Why the sloppy loading? Speed, A whole bunch of stuff has to be unloaded and reloaded in minimum time. I recently ordered an oil pan and it had been resealed, they put tape on it that said to check contents. The pan had a scratch on it, but no biggie. Stuff happens.

![]() Summit has always been good to me. Except a few minor stuff, like they sent me a super swamper instead of a mickey thompson sportsman pro street one. But someone had slapped a guys shipping tag over mine. But other than that all my stuff has gotten her quick and safely.

![]() I've ordered alot from summit and never had ANY problems, however i've had VERY poorly packaged items from Jegs many times, so now i don't order from then anymore.
For me the companies i buy from regularly are: Summit (very good to me) Year One Companies i'll never buy from again: Mustang Parts Specialties Jegs I guess everyone has their own "don't buy from list" Sorry to hear your difficulties
