I worked at ups as a seasonal feeder driver and never saw anyone opening boxes. However I have seen them break open when trailer doors were opened and stuff fell out due to sloppy loading. Why the sloppy loading? Speed, A whole bunch of stuff has to be unloaded and reloaded in minimum time. I recently ordered an oil pan and it had been resealed, they put tape on it that said to check contents. The pan had a scratch on it, but no biggie. Stuff happens.
