I will be going to a C-4 with a 3500 stall and a dual stage nitrous kit.
I don't understand why you think that is way too much cam. We are running a cam with around .530 lift and 300 duration in our streetrod. It has flat top pistons with my the stock heads off my mustang ported, torker 289 intake, and a 600 holley. It runs real strong. It is pro-streeted and it will burn those big tires off at Bristol, TN while running a 13.3 @ 101 and 12.1 @ 118 with 150 shot (tire melting).
