Well, I thought the reasoning for an electric fan is so that you don't use as much horsepower that a regular fan uses to turn the pully when it's not needed (ie, at high speeds) or when the car is cool enough that it just doesn't need it. With the regular fan, it does little to nothing at high speeds so the concept w/ the electric fan is it's only used when it's needed so a few horsepower is freed up.
So with your rigging, it's on all the time which kinda defeats the purpose of an electric fan.
