is it just a ticking noise? might have just been the lifters, what kind of lifters do you have? if those 2 are bad, replace them and gt them all adjusted correctly and see if that helps, the clicking noise your tlaking about when manualy turning the engine over w/o the heads and lifters, i think that is normal
