Default clutch cable

Hello, I am a new member. I put a t-5 in my mustang and a cable clutch to go with it. The only kit you can buy for the adapting the cable to older cars costs around $300 so I decided to weld a piece of metal onto the clutch pedal and make a mount for the cable on the firewall. I need to shorten the cable, does anyone know the best way to do this? I have the B&M shifter, but I haven't even put the seats in to see how far the reach is. As you can tell my restoration is not yet completed.
