But anyways.....the name of the game is traction, If your planning on going to the strip alot get some slicks, if your going to do alot of street racing(which I discourage.) then you will want Drag radials, you don't have to have them, but hooking up is how you win most of the time.

whats the best rpm to launch at (~1600-1900) ? When is it best to change gears.. as in what rpm? Also, do stock 5.0's come with posi?

Back to your original question, there isn't really a "SET" rpm to launch at, you just have to practice, your gears, tires and the way you drive will be a factor, just practice launching at different rpm's and you'll see what works best for you.
