Sounds like its time to re-build the shifter bushings. Dont stress they are very easy to do & may at best tave about 1.5 hrs ,That is if your into detalis. Remember to replace the lower shifter boot while your down there. It will make a huge reduction in road noise not to mention dust & debre.
