I also read all the tests in mmff and 5.0 and it all sounds like a big sale pitch to me. Think about it... If you want to make a load of cash you have to come out with something new (331) and convince people that it is better then the others (347). I admit it all sounds good and I am sure the 331 is a great motor, but I just don't buy it.
Before the 331 came out were the oil control issues and short life span of the 347 a problem, or did they just start after the birth of the 331? Did these shops tell people about the so called problems? Why is it that GM can make motors for years that last for 200,000 miles with the same issues as the 347 but not have any problems?
I am not saying that I know more then all the big name shops. But I do know that all the talk about bad rod ratios and oil control issues that are being told started by the makers of the 331.
